HELP Fireface 400 e macbook pro.....

Ragazzi ho bisogno di un aiutino ce qualcuno che ha fireface 400 e macbook pro e mi sa dire se la scheda funziona anche senza alimentazione?ringrazio anticipatamente!

Si funziona anche senza. Ma su un portatile e' consigliabile usarlo.Attento al tuo portatile se ha il chip Agere la FF400 potrebbe non funzionare correttamente ma c'e' una soluzione e cioe' usare un cavo 800-400 e collegarla al FW800.

Alcune FF400 hanno comunque bisogno dell'alimentatore ( dipende dal numero di serie, le prime piu' o meno )

Ho appena mandato una mail alla rme e tempestivamente mi hanno risposto:yes, that is the serial number. This unit is not capable of bus-power from newer Mac notebooks, sorry. Apple reduced the power available on the firewire port after the FF400 was already in production. Newer FF400s will work on bus power with the MacBook Pro since RME made a change accommodating the lower power available.

in effetti anche i processori dei nuovi macbook pro sono più piccoli e consumano meno, probabilmente la Apple avrà ridotto la potenza anche per questo...probabilmente il vantaggio globale sarà nel minor consumo e minor calore del mac.

...voglio prenderlo anche io il macbook pro ma, Losteve, mi stai facendo prendere degli spaventi...ehehehe

La mia si può alimentare anche dal macbook pro. Gli ultimi non hanno più il chip agere se non sbaglio.
